Opportunities for Wider Experience

Monash Abroad

The Monash Abroad Program (which is available for off-campus students on a full time basis) can provide you with the opportunity to undertake study at another approved tertiary institution overseas. For example, you could spend one or two semesters at Monash’s international campuses in Malaysia and South Africa or any of 120 partner institutions in 27 countries around the world. You can also choose one of many short-term international study programs including in-country language programs, study tours, internships or, clinical or professional placements overseas.

Off-Campus mentoring

Under the Off-Campus Mentoring Program, experienced students (mentors) provide one-on-one support to new off-campus students (mentees) from the same faculty. This Program provides a valuable experience for both mentees and mentors. For instance, the program can help you as a new student when you don’t know where to turn. Alternatively, as a mentor, you can enhance your leadership skills. Contact the Monash University Gippsland Student Union (MUGSU) for more information.

Off-Campus Students' Association

The Off Campus Students' Association (OCSA) brings together students studying off-campus. Its site includes descriptions of the services offered, including:

  • advocating for improvements to off campus teaching delivery
  • a bulletin board
  • a wall planner
  • regular email news updates
  • other services that can help you during your time as a student

Scholarships and awards

Monash has a range of scholarships and awards open to many categories of students, including commencing and continuing domestic and international students at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate coursework levels, who are enrolled in, or are intending to enrol in, an award course at the university. There are three types of scholarships and awards available:

  • Merit
  • Merit and Equity
  • Equity.
