Special Consideration

Eligibility

An Open Universities Australia (OUA) student may apply for special consideration if his/her ability to sit an exam has been affected by serious illness or other serious cause.

Students availing themselves of Alternative Arrangements for Assessment (AAA) may also apply for special consideration where appropriate.

Please refer to the University Special Consideration policy and procedures.

To Apply

Submit your application to the OUA Administration Office as soon as possible, prior to the scheduled examination.  If you were unable to complete an examination, submit your application no later than forty-eight hours after the date of your scheduled examination.

On Approval of Application

On approval of your special consideration application, you will be contacted by the OUA Administration Officer to arrange a deferred exam to be sat in the next available Study Period that the Unit is offered.

Assignment extensions

For OUA Undergraduate assignment extensions, you are required to contact the Student Liaison Office at the Off-Campus Learning Centre on telephone +61 3 990 26304, or email open.support@oclc.monash.edu.au, or fax +61 3 990 21838 to arrange an extension and receive a reference code to be recorded on your bar coded cover sheet.

For OUA Postgraduate assignment extensions, you are required to contact the appropriate Unit Advisor.
